Conservator at SCHAUWERK Sindelfingen

SCHAUWERK Sindelfingen houses the Schaufler collection, one of the largest private collections of contemporary painting, sculpture, installation, video and photography. It is recruiting a conservator to take charge of the care of the collection, its permanent and temporary displays, loans, store and other sites.

The conservator carries out treatments or commissions and documents work by outside specialists, develops preventive conservation (climate monitoring, pest management, risk and emergency planning), helps organise loans and courier trips, maintains the MuseumPlus database and joins in practical art handling: packing, installing and hanging.

Applicants need a diploma or master's in conservation and restoration, some early professional experience (ideally with contemporary art) and good English. The post is full time (40 hours a week) and permanent, paid in line with TV-L pay group 12.
