Curator of Contemporary Art at Museum de Fundatie

Museum de Fundatie, one of the leading art museums in the Netherlands with sites in Zwolle and at Kasteel het Nijenhuis in Heino, is looking for a curator of contemporary art for 36 hours a week. The collection of over 16,000 objects, from the late Middle Ages to now, is the starting point for research and exhibitions.

The curator brings broad knowledge of contemporary art and international perspectives, develops research-based exhibitions, texts and publications, works with artists, researchers and partners, and helps the museum rethink who it serves and how art is presented.

Applicants need an MA in art history, at least three years as a curator or similar, exhibition and publication experience, project and budget skills, and excellent English; basic Dutch is enough if you are willing to improve it. The offer is a one-year contract with a view to extension and permanence, paid on scale 11 of the Museum CAO. Apply by 29 November 2026; interviews on 11 and 17 December.
