Curator of Dutch and Flemish Painting (one year) at Mauritshuis

The Mauritshuis in The Hague, home to Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt's Anatomy Lesson, is looking for an experienced curator of Dutch and Flemish painting for its Collection & Research department, on a one-year contract.

The curator makes knowledge about the collection and the museum's history accessible through research, scholarly and popular texts, tours and lectures, oversees outgoing loans, answers enquiries and works on projects with other departments.

Applicants need a master's in art history with proven knowledge of 16th- and 17th-century Dutch and Flemish painting, substantial curatorial and exhibition experience, strong editing and writing skills, and good Dutch and English; living in or near The Hague is preferred. The contract is for 36 hours a week for one year, on scale 11 of the Museum CAO depending on experience, with 28 days' holiday. Apply by email; the vacancy closes once there are enough applicants.
