Freelance Background Artist at Newscape Studios

Newscape Studios runs about a dozen YouTube channels with animation and game-based videos for a young audience, and is adding freelance 2D background artists to its animation team. The artist finalises environments and background props for production, matching the style of the studio's animation channels, at about 25 environments a week with daily quotas and revisions to deadline.

The ad asks for proficiency in Photoshop and Procreate and substantial knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, the ability to adapt to a range of styles, and a strong grasp of composition, perspective, colour, light and form. Toon Boom is a plus. A portfolio is required.

The work is remote, as an independent contractor, at $800 per production week; artists with an LLC are preferred but not required. The ad warns that emails from Newscapeprocareers.com are a scam and that the studio does not ask for personal or bank details before an interview. Apply through Indeed.
