About

Künstlerhaus Bethanien runs an International Studio Programme in Berlin-Kreuzberg offering studios, exhibitions and curatorial support to artists from around the world. Most places are allocated by partner institutions and funding bodies (e.g. ARKO Korea, DAAD, Creative New Zealand, IASPIS Sweden), each with its own call and deadline.

Artists without a partner can apply directly at any time by emailing a one-page motivation letter, portfolio, CV and the name of an intended funding body; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Residencies last 6–12 months (minimum 3) depending on availability.

Direct applicants must secure their own funding; Bethanien may issue a Letter of Interest to support a funding search. Stipend and cost details are not published on the site.
