Lead Technical Artist at Epic Games

Epic Games wants a Lead Technical Artist to guide a team of technical artists building visually rich, high-performing game worlds as part of its collaboration with Disney. The lead turns project goals into practical tools, workflows and technical solutions alongside art, engineering and design.

Day to day the role profiles content and fixes performance bottlenecks, optimises geometry, materials, shaders, textures, lighting, foliage and VFX against memory and performance budgets, and mentors artists in best practice. Epic asks for experience shipping and supporting a live-service game, strong technical art experience on shipped titles, experience leading or mentoring technical artists, and practical knowledge of real-time rendering and profiling.
