Painting Arts Instructor (Temporary) at Educational Alliance

Educational Alliance Art School in Lower Manhattan is hiring a temporary Painting Arts Instructor to keep existing painting classes running while the regular instructor is away. Classes may be at the Art School, the Weinberg Center for Balanced Living or Co-op Village NORC, and serve students of mixed experience levels in acrylic and oil.

The instructor demonstrates painting fundamentals such as colour theory, composition, value and brushwork, gives individual and group instruction, follows established course plans while adapting lessons as needed, maintains the studio and follows safety procedures for materials.

The school wants an active painting artist with at least two years of experience teaching painting to adults or children, engagement with the New York visual arts community, and availability for morning, evening and weekend classes as scheduled. The assignment's length depends on the regular instructor's return.

Pay is $50 an hour, part time and temporary. Apply through the employment portal linked from the listing by 4 December 2026.
