Scenic Painter at Tiroler Landestheater

The Tiroler Landestheater in Innsbruck, the largest cultural institution in Tyrol and western Austria, is hiring a scenic painter (Bühnenmaler:in) to start in December 2026.

The work is turning set designs into drawn, painted and sculpted scenery: decorative painting, surfaces, textures and trompe l'oeil, plus figures, reliefs, dummy furniture and objects made from polystyrene, clay, plaster, wood, plastics and composites. Digital tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or 3D visualisation software are also used, working closely with the other workshops and artistic teams.

Applicants need a completed training as a painter, scenic painter or a comparable craft-artistic qualification; scenic painting or set-building experience is an advantage. The post is full time at 38 hours a week, with a minimum annual gross salary of €35,215 (more possible depending on experience), meal allowance and job ticket. Apply via the theatre's website or by email by 30 November 2026.
