About
SRAL, a Maastricht-based conservation studio with 16 conservators working across paintings, sculpture and historic interiors, is recruiting a senior conservator of historic interiors. The role covers colour-historical research, analysis of complex interior situations and conservation treatments, working independently or with the interiors and paintings teams.
Projects range from medieval vault paintings and rich palace and castle interiors to 20th-century townhouses and post-war wall paintings. Work is mostly on location around the Netherlands or at home writing reports and quotes; the post also involves leading a multidisciplinary team and being familiar with Dutch monuments policy.
Applicants need a university master's and several years' experience in the field. The appointment is for one year with a view to a permanent contract, 36 to 40 hours a week, on Museum CAO scale 11 (€4,514 to €6,027 gross a month at 40 hours), with travel costs, laptop and workwear. Apply by email before 15 November 2026; interviews in December, start 1 April 2027 or by agreement.
