About

The Whitney's Ostrover Family Academic Year Internship places students in a museum department for a semester. This spring 2027 placement is in the curatorial department for American art made between 1900 and 1960, and runs in person from 18 January to 26 April 2027, at 16 to 21 hours a week for a total of 176 hours.

The intern supports research and administration for upcoming exhibitions, collection stewardship, gifts and acquisitions, archival and provenance research, exhibition proposals and presentations. Training in The Museum System and Raiser's Edge is provided.

The internship is open to rising juniors and above, including graduate students, enrolled in an accredited academic programme. Previous research experience is required. Interns receive a $3,000 stipend. Applications close on 9 November 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis, so the post may fill earlier.
