About

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig, County Monaghan, is Ireland's national residential workplace for artists of all disciplines, with visual arts studios, music and dance studios and writers' rooms. New applicants complete an application form demonstrating a professional track record; visual artists must have exhibited in professional venues with work selected by professional curators and/or held in a public collection. Once approved, an artist can book their first and subsequent residencies directly. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Residencies are self-funded, with subsidised 2025-26 rates for artists from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Britain and Europe of €490 per week full board in the House or €315 per week self-catering in the Cottages (international artists €840 and €560). Many Irish local authorities and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland offer bursaries covering a week's residency; bursary recipients are automatically approved for future stays.
