WIELS Residency Programme 2027 – call for Belgium-based artists

Six-month studio residencies in Brussels for four Belgian or Belgium-based artists with at least three years of activity in the Belgian scene, each with a EUR 3,000 grant. Deadline was 31 May 2026 for residencies in 2027.

About
WIELS runs an international residency programme and opens one annual call for artists who are Belgian or live and work in Belgium and have contributed to the Belgian contemporary art scene for at least three years. Four artists are selected by an independent jury for six-month residencies (January–June or July–December 2027) with a dedicated studio and an artistic recognition grant of EUR 3,000.
Applications were made via an online form with a 250-word artistic approach, 250-word statement of intent, three references and a portfolio link, by 31 May 2026. International artists access WIELS residencies through partner institutions in their own countries rather than this call.
